YOMS v1.0 User Manual and Reproducibility Guide

Yemeni Optical Model System — optical-model calculations for neutron-induced reactions

Author Dr Abdullah Al-Shami Version 1.0 Published 29 July 2026 Worked example neutron-induced 56Fe

The Yemeni Optical Model System (YOMS) is a scientific computational framework developed at NATEC for organizing, executing, and documenting optical-model calculations of neutron-induced reactions. This manual describes its scientific purpose, mathematical formulation, computational workflow, inputs and outputs, verification evidence, reproducibility controls, and current limitations.

Neutron-induced 56Fe is presented as the verified worked example in this edition. This example does not limit YOMS to iron — the framework is designed as a general system and may be applied to other nuclides.

  • YOMS is documented as a general framework for neutron-induced optical-model calculations.
  • Neutron-induced iron-56 (56Fe) is the verified worked example supplied in this edition.
  • The worked example does not limit YOMS to iron — the system may be applied to other nuclides.
  • Source code, executables, internal datasets, and third-party software are not distributed with this manual.
